At a ceremony held at the Northern New Jersey Cal Ripken State Tournament in South Plainfield, Ralph Errico of Edison, New Jersey was inducted into the Babe Ruth League Middle Atlantic Region Hall of Fame.
Ralph Errico started in youth sports as a coach with the Edison Angels Softball organization in 1989. He went on to serve as League President for the Edison Angels, during which time he chartered the league under the Babe Ruth Softball banner. On the baseball side, he became involved with the Edison Babe Ruth League in 1997, serving as a coach and Board Member.
Errico has also held several positions at the state level for both baseball and softball. In 2000, he was elected as District 9 Commissioner and appointed as an Assistant State Commissioner for Northern New Jersey.
In 2008, Errico was elected as Northern New Jersey State Commissioner, a position he still holds today. Another position he currently fills is as an Assistant Regional Commissioner responsible for Babe Ruth Softball for the Middle Atlantic Babe Ruth Leagues. Errico’s responsibilities include overseeing the Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball leagues in Northern New Jersey, as well as administering the entire Babe Ruth Softball program for the Middle Atlantic Region.
And as a State and Assistant Regional Commissioner, Errico is responsible for organizing and conducting several baseball and softball state and regional tournaments, many of which he serves as a Tournament Director.
Additionally, Errico has served, and continues to serve, as a Task Force Member for several Babe Ruth Softball National Tournaments and World Series. As a Task Force Member, Errico works with a team of dedicated individuals to bring together hundreds of teams from throughout the United States and other parts of the world to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tournaments like the Babe Ruth Softball National Tournaments and World Series are incredible opportunities for kids to see a new city, explore new surroundings, make new friends, and play their favorite game – a true big-league experience!
Ralph Errico doesn’t limit his community involvement to baseball. Professionally, Errico is employed as a School Principal in the South Plainfield School System and has served his community on various committees including the School Board and Finance and Zoning Committees.
