Jan Hartog

Mr. Jan Hartog was born June 9, 1914.  He was the Director Rotterdamache Bank, N.V, Gouda Branch.  Jan was a pioneer of the Babe Ruth program in the Netherlands and spent 35 years dedicated to elevating Babe Ruth organizations.

     His athletic experience included Track and Field (5 years), Soccer (10 years as field captain), and Baseball (15 years including All Star Team of the Netherlands).

     He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Royal Dutch Baseball Association, Commissioner for the Netherlands of the National Baseball Congress of Wichita, Kansas, Country Director for Babe Ruth League for the Netherlands, European Native Babe Ruth League Director, President Baseball Youth Committee of Royal Dutch Baseball Association, and Secretary Haarlem Baseball Club.

     Mr. Jan Hartog was inducted into the Babe Ruth Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
