Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Joe Cookson has been involved with our program for over 15 years.  He is a very dedicated volunteer and plays a major role in the success the organization enjoys today.  It is a proud moment to have a person of his caliber inducted into the Hall of Fame."

Cookson started working for Babe Ruth Baseball in 1953 and spent nine years as the first-time administrator for the program. Joe served four years on the Babe Ruth Board of Directors. He was instrumental in starting Babe Ruth Baseball in Canada and increasing the scope of the league and in the United States.

Joe was selected for the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame in 1975.
