Eddie Bryan

Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Eddie was a big supporter of Babe Ruth Baseball.  His greatest moments came when he was umpiring a Babe Ruth game or serving as a Tournament Host President."

Eddie Bryan had always been a civic minded hard worker for his community.  He served on many boards, commissions and committees.  His biggest cause was Babe Ruth Baseball.  Bryan served as a Board Member for the Junior Babe Ruth League in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a member of the Taylor Field Board, a member of the Babe Ruth League, Inc. Advisory Board and a member of the Southwest Regional Umpiring Staff for many years.

Bryan was a registered official for the Arkansas Officials Association and officiated baseball, football and basketball for over 30 years.  In addition, he worked eight King Cotton Holiday Basketball Classics.   Bryan also umpired all levels of baseball up to the NAIA.  He umpired 12 Southwest Regional Tournaments and 16 straight Babe Ruth World Series.  This is a record that can never be broken as today Babe Ruth World Series umpires can only work three years in a row.  After three straight assignments, they are required to sit out for one year.

Eddie Bryan joins more than 150 individuals and organization who have earned the distinction of being inducted into the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame.
