            Babe Ruth League, Inc. is proud to support Major League Baseball with their worthwhile efforts to reach out to urban and inner-city areas to encourage their participation in the games of baseball and softball. 

            Today, America has a new “face”, which is more diverse and multicultural.  We want to use the positive aspects of baseball and softball to help nurture the character of our inner-city children and to provide them with positive role models to stress the importance of education, and above all, to let them know we care about them and their futures.

            Over the past years, baseball, softball and other youth sports opportunities have seemed to toil away in inner-cities.  The truth is that many inner-city kids do want to play baseball, softball and other sports.  The truth is there is a lot of potential talent in the inner-cities for these games.   However, there are many contributing factors causing the decline of amateur sports in urban areas:  lack of fields, facilities, community support, funding and volunteers.  It’s hard to play the game well if you don’t have good fields to play on.  It’s hard to play the game if there aren’t any volunteers to teach the basic fundamentals.  It’s hard to play the game if there aren’t any clinics or training materials available to teach parents how to coach.  It’s hard to play the game without funding to cover the cost of equipment and registration fees. 

            Please help us make baseball and softball games of the future for the kids in urban areas, not games of the past.  Childhood is a crucial time of our lives.  It is the time of development that molds the kind of adult we will become.  Youth baseball and softball are excellent avenues by which to teach the game of live.  If you can help us make a difference in the life of a child, please complete the form below and return to Babe Ruth Headquarters.
