Howard Rohrbacher

1989

Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Howard Rohrbacher has been involved with our program for over 30 years.  He is a very dedicated volunteer and plays a major role in the success the organization enjoys today.  It is a proud moment to have a person of his caliber inducted into the Hall of Fame."

Howard organized the first program in Florida, a three-team league then known as the Little Bigger League. From that point until his retirement from the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department in 1984, he served the program in both an official and non-official capacity. Rohrbacher served as Florida State Director for 12 years and the program in Florida continued to flourish under his leadership. He also served as Assistant Southeast Regional Director and held many titles at the local league level during his early days with the program.

Ex-President, the late Ronald Tellefsen said, "Howard was a very kind and gentle man who was admired by all those who came to know and respect him. He devoted time and energy to the Babe Ruth program and its youth because he believed in Babe Ruth Baseball."
