Frank Cembellin

Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Frank Cembellin was involved with our program for over 46 years.  He was truly a dedicated volunteer and played a major role in the success the organization enjoys today.  It is a proud moment to have a person of his caliber inducted into the Hall of Fame."

Cembellin began his affiliation with Babe Ruth League in 1956 by organizing the first Babe Ruth program in San Benito County, California.  He donated his time and labor to help build the Babe Ruth Field for this league, including a concession stand, dugouts, announcing stand, and BBQ pits with roofs, using his skills as a carpenter and contractor.  From 1959 to 1971, Cembellin served as a coach, manager and League President for the San Benito County Babe Ruth League.  From 1971 until 2002, he wore many other hats for the Babe Ruth program including Area Director, District Commissioner, Tournament Director/Advisor for many Babe Ruth tournaments held in the Central California area, and Assistant State Commissioner

A devoted family man, Frank Cembellin served in the Marines during World War II, achieving the rank of Sergeant.  He married his wife Gladys in 1949, and they successfully raised four children and are the proud grandparents of six grandchildren.   Professionally, Cembellin progressed from carpenter to contractor to land developer and also sold wholesale beverages and real estate.

In addition to his involvement with Babe Ruth League, Inc, Cembellin served on many commissions, civic projects and other youth activity committees.

Cembellin is enjoying full retirement now, taking care of his wife Gladys and giving thanks every day for the blessings he has received.

Cembellin donated close to 50 years of his life to the Babe Ruth program and the youth it services.  The value of his contributions are immeasurable, his character unsullied, and his merit without question.

Frank Cembellin joins more than 200 individuals and organization who have earned the distinction of being inducted into the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame.
