TRENTON, NJ…Since 1999, Babe Ruth Softball players from around the country have come to compete against one another, as well as create life-long friendships and lasting memories, at the Babe Ruth Softball 12U and 16U World Series.
Babe Ruth League, Inc. is pleased to announce that beginning with the 2015 season, three additional Softball World Series will be offered in the 8U, 10U and 14U age divisions. These tournaments will follow an invitational format where teams can earn births to participate in the World Series by playing in qualifying tournaments or the traditional tournament trail. Travel funds will not be available for the regional champions in these age groups, but qualifying tournaments will be held enough time in advance so that teams can raise funds for their travel expenses. However, just like the 12U and 16U World Series, there will be no entry fee for teams to participate in the 8U, 10U and 14U World Series.
“Coming to a World Series is a once in a lifetime experience. Offering additional World Series for Babe Ruth Softball is an excellent way to allow more youngsters and communities to take part in a unique social, cultural and competitive experience, leaving them with a host of memories to cherish for the rest of their lives,” said Babe Ruth League National Commissioner Rob Connor. “This is also a great milestone for Babe Ruth Softball, something our league officials and commissioners have been requesting for quite some time.”
In addition, Babe Ruth Softball is developing a second tournament trail for teams chartered under Xtreme Fastpitch to compete in the Xtreme Fastpitch National Championship, which in most cases will double the amount of softball games played under the Babe Ruth League banner. To begin, four age groups will be offered this opportunity in 2015 – X8, X10, X12 and X14.
Rostered players are eligible to play in tournament trails for both Babe Ruth Softball and Xtreme Fastpitch tournaments. Listed below are sites and dates for the 2015 Softball World Series and Xtreme National Championships.
