Message from the Chairman
Cormier Presets
Greeting from the Chairman of the Babe Ruth League Alumni Association

Having served as Vice Chairman of the Babe Ruth League, Inc. Alumni Association since its inception, I am now honored and excited to serve as your new Chairman.  I embrace the challenge and the responsibility to represent your needs and your diverse interests.

Through the leadership of our past Chairpersons, and with the support of the governance and committees, we have seen a transformation of the Babe Ruth League Alumni Association, concentrating on growth and strategic planning.  I would like to personally thank past Chairman Mark Watkins for his dedicated efforts as Chairman and for being a true Ambassador for all Alumni.

Our current focus is unwavering and still remains on strengthening the membership of the Alumni Association to serve the Babe Ruth League program, its participants and its initiatives.

With this message, I want to share a bit about my background.  I started volunteering for the Babe Ruth League program in 1974, serving as a coach, manager and League President.  After leaving the local league level, I took on the positions of District Commissioner, Assistant Tournament Director and Tournament Director.  I currently serve as Southwest Assistant Regional Commissioner and now as Chairman of the Babe Ruth League Alumni Association.

I was a member of the World Series Committee for the first Babe Ruth World Series hosted by Abbeville, Louisiana in 1974.  This World Series was a huge success, both financially and in breaking attendance records.  Abbeville went on to host eight additional Babe Ruth League World Series over the years where I was honored to serve in a multitude of roles, including Stadium Committee Chairman, Public Relations Chairman, Finance Chairman and Assistant Host President.

In 2019, I had the distinct pleasure of being inducted into the Babe Ruth League International Hall of Fame.

Over 69 years ago, some amazing people got together and took an extraordinary, self-sacrificing leap of faith to develop a baseball program for young men ages 13 to 15.  These founders had the vision to bring together a dedicated family of volunteers, all working together, with the common purpose to advance and support the general welfare of youth.  As a result, Babe Ruth League, Inc. now serves over 1 million players participating in Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Babe Ruth Softball and Bambino Buddy Ball.

The only way to keep this dream alive is to engage the assistance of the millions of alumni who have participated, or currently participate, in the Babe Ruth League program.

If you are not a member, now is the perfect time to join.  The Alumni Association is constantly evolving and many new developments are on the horizon.  Whether you make a monetary donation, join as a member and/or donate your time volunteering for the Alumni, the support of fellow and future alums will help us all and enable Babe Ruth League to continue as one of the greatest youth baseball and softball programs.

Remember our Alumni Association is only as strong as the sum of its parts.  I would love to hear from you on how we can make the Alumni Association a stronger, more engaged organization.  Please feel free to email your thoughts and ideas to joecormier0418@gmail.com, with a copy to info@baberuthleague.org

Thank you in advance for your support as we build bigger circles, tighter connections and greater engagement.
