INTERNATIONAL HALL OF FAME
The Babe Ruth League, Inc. Hall of Fame exists to recognize outstanding contributions by individuals who are active or inactive in Babe Ruth League, Inc. and those organizations who have been loyal supporters of Babe Ruth League, Inc. The Hall of Fame is an international honor bestowed upon the very best individuals or organizations who champion the mission of the organization that every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.
General Nominating Procedures:

Anyone can nominate an individual or organization for election to the Babe Ruth League, Inc., Hall of Fame. In all cases the individual or organization must have served and supported Babe Ruth League, Inc. for a minimum of 15 years. The nominee's service with Babe Ruth League, Inc. must have been directed to achieving the mission of Babe Ruth League, Inc. and should have shown excellent service to Babe Ruth League, Inc. and have passed a criminal background check. All nominations are to be sent to Headquarters by August 31st of each year. Upon receipt of a Hall of Fame nomination, Headquarters will date stamp the nomination and inform the nominator in writing of the nomination receipt. Headquarters will forward nominations that meet the selection criteria to the Hall of Fame Committee. Headquarters will send the nominations to the State and Regional Commissioners from which the nominee arises for their comments on the nominee. State or Regional Commissioner's comments will be forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee. At the annual Board of Directors meeting the Hall of Fame Committee will forward nominees which have 75 percent endorsement of the Hall of Fame Committee to the Board of Directors. A nominee may be considered each year of the first three years of the nomination. Any nominations that were not favorably acted upon by the committee may resubmit the nomination after a waiting period of three years. The resubmitted nomination is to be sent to Headquarters by August 31st of that renewed nomination year.
Nomination Specific Criteria:
Hall of Fame
Active and inactive members of Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball or organizations or an individual within an organization who have supported Babe Ruth League, Inc. shall be eligible for the Hall of Fame. Active members must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of service, excellent service to the mission of Babe Ruth League, be a member of a Babe Ruth League Regional Hall of Fame and have passed a criminal background check. Members of the Board of Directors will not be eligible for the Hall of Fame unless they have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of service and are 65 years of age or older. Only those active or inactive members who have been selected to their Regional Hall of Fame shall be eligible for the Babe Ruth League, Inc. Hall of Fame. For an organization or individual within an organization to be eligible to the Hall of Fame the organization must have had a continuous relationship with Babe Ruth League, Inc. for 15 years.
Hall of Fame Committee Selection Process:
The Hall of Fame Committee, as stipulated in the organization's Bylaws, is comprised of Board of Director members selected by the President/CEO of Babe Ruth League, Inc. Following the August 31st closing date for nominations and within thirty days after the deadline, all eligible nominations shall be formally summarized by Babe Ruth League, Inc. staff and forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee. The summarized nominations shall be coded to identify the status of the nominations as current, second, or third year of their nomination. Nominations received are eligible for consideration for an additional three (3) consecutive years and if not selected, the nomination is then considered inactive. A nomination after a three-year waiting period may be resubmitted by the original nominator to be considered for an additional three (3) year period. Nominations that meet the eligibility criteria for the Hall of Fame shall be reviewed and discussed by the committee. After discussion of the nominees the Hall of Fame Committee shall vote on no more than five nominees. The Hall of Fame nominees that receive 75 percent of the vote of the committee will then be presented to the Board of Directors by the committee chair.
Each nominee forwarded to the Board of Directors must be elected by at least 75 percent of the board members present at the Board of Directors annual meeting. The Board of Directors members shall vote on the nominees presented to them by written ballot. The Babe Ruth League, Inc. Chief Financial Officer shall tally the ballot vote and announce those selected to the Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame Location:
The Babe Ruth League, Inc. Hall of Fame shall have a physical home at Headquarters located at 1670 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road Hamilton, NJ 08619. If possible, the Hall of Fame recipients' information may also be displayed in the Babe Ruth Baseball designated display area in Cooperstown, New York at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and at other noted sites (such as Regional, State, District or League sites).
Announcement and Recognition:
The election of members to the Hall of Fame and/or their respective families or organization official shall be notified in writing by Babe Ruth League, Inc. President/CEO within 30 days of their election. The President/CEO will advise the successful candidates of details regarding the official induction ceremony and function as applicable. The newly honored Hall of Fame members are to be the recipient of the Hall of Fame plaque and a lapel pin. The elected Hall of Fame class shall be announced by Headquarters to media outlets, social media, and other Babe Ruth League, Inc. mediums within thirty days after the annual Board of Directors meeting.
