Donald A. Butler
Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Donald A. Butler has been involved with our program for over 36 years. He is a very dedicated volunteer and plays a major role in the success the organization enjoys today. It is a proud moment to have a person of his caliber inducted into the Hall of Fame."
Don has been involved with Babe Ruth since 1955, holding the State Commissioner position for 36 years. He started with 9 leagues, and held sanction to over 80 leagues in 1994, not including the growing softball program of Kentucky.
Butler's efforts awarded him the "Lefty" Gomez award, an annual award given to an individual with outstanding accomplishments in Babe Ruth Baseball. The award was well deserved, and the league's organization and leadership was displayed by the Regional Championships won by the 10, 12, 13, 14, and 13-15 year olds.
He'll always be remembered for opening his state and district meetings with a prayer. He was simply the remarkable at always putting the kids first.
