Manuel A. Gouveia

Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen said, "Manny Gouveia has been involved with our program for over 41 years.  He is a very dedicated volunteer and plays a major role in the success the organization enjoys today.  It is a proud moment to have a person of his caliber inducted into the Hall of Fame."

During his first year with Babe Ruth Baseball, Manny put together a team of kids who had been cut from other teams. This team won the city championship. Manny went on to coach and manager (at the same time) the Moon Carriers Babe Ruth team for 21 years. During these coaching years, he held the office of Secretary / Treasurer of the Clifton Babe Ruth League for 10 years. He also coached the All Star team for many years. In 1973, Manny was elected Northern New Jersey District 3 Director, a position he held until he was elected State Director in 1974. He held this position for 17 years. Manny held the Middle Atlantic Assistant Regional Commissioner Position from 1991-1998.

The Gouveia family resides in Clifton, New Jersey, Manny, his wife, Helen, and their three children.
