Bob Curran

Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steve Tellefsen said, "Bob was involved in Babe Ruth League, Inc. for close to 50 years.  He proved on numerous occasions to be one of the most formidable forces that kept Babe Ruth League, Inc. on the cutting edge of the youth sports arena.  His busy savvy and sharp acumen on what was best for Babe Ruth played a vital role in the success the program enjoys today."

Curran started in the Babe Ruth program in 1956 as one of the founding fathers of the South Boston Babe Ruth League.  He wore many hats for the league serving as a coach, manager, umpire, Vice President and President.  After serving on the local league level, Curran served in various state positions, including District Director, State Director and Regional Commissioner.  In 1970, he was elected to the Babe Ruth Board of Directors, serving in various capacities over the span of 35 years, such as Board Chairman, Executive Consultant and Finance Chairman. 

Curran's business career spanned from 1951 to 2003 with Kemper National Insurance Companies holding the positions of Division Accounting Manager, Regional Collections Manager, Division Controller, Financial Officer, Financial Project Officer, Corporate Budget Officer and Vice President.  In honor of Curran's 50th anniversary with Kemper, they donated $50,000 to Babe Ruth League, Inc. per his instructions.
